OUR ELDERS

We as a church plant are seeking for a pastor to shepherd us locally, yet in the time being we are governed by pro temp elders who consist of the session from our Mother Church (or sending church). The oversight from our pro temp elders is aided by and through the steering committee, which are men who have been approved by the Mother Church and voted in by the Congregation of CCI. Until two or more pastors/elders are elected the functions of Elder will be performed by the steering committee. Steering committee members are officers of the church. The steering committee may perform all functions necessary to support the operations of the Church except those annexed solely to ordained elders, namely, administration of the sacraments, ordination, church discipline and excommunication. While operating with a steering committee, there shall be a minimum of three members. Until two or more pastors/elders are elected a majority vote among the steering committee counts as one vote on session matters pertaining to administrative issues. Once two or more pastors/elders are elected, the steering committee will be dissolved.
